Laura Faith Kebede is a distinguished journalist in residence at the Institute for Public Service Reporting at the University of Memphis. She recently launched "Civil Wrongs," a program to bring together history and journalism students to examine historical cases of racial terror in Memphis and the mid-South and analyze their effect on present-day injustices.
